to SLIC.ROM do not use "b" - bootblock option flash modified bios like: AFU236U.exe /iSLIC.ROM /pnc /n
Renamed the modded bios and booted to DOS. typed in AFU236U.exe /iSLIC.ROM /pnc /n with a space before each forward slash. Got the following: ASF Signature not found ERROR: Bios has no flash information available. When I ran the mod tool on my original bios, oldbios.bin the mod tool created these files, iSLIC.BIN, MAIN.BIN, MAIN_SLIC.BIN, OLDBIOS_SLIC.BIN. The last one (OLDBIOS_SLIC.BIN) is the one that was shown in the Award mod program as the new bios. That is the one I have been trying all this with.
Can you make new bios backup with AFU236U utility (AFU236U.exe /oBACKUP.ROM ) and upload both - this backup and awardflash's backup (oldbios.bin) ? (I'll see them tomorrow)
Ran from DOS and typed AFU236U.exe /oBACKUP.ROM and got the same message: ASF Signature not found ERROR: Bios has no flash information available.
well, I don't think so.. when I bought the laptop, 01QB was installed and no date of purchase was available in BIOS. it's standard for samsung out of the box. after I had installed windows, date of purchase appeared and it was 25.03.2012. when I upgraded to 04QB it stayed the same. but when I flashed 04QB SLIC, system date went to 27.02.2012 and so did date of purchase. I have tried flashing 04QB SLIC -> 03QB -> 04QB -> 04QB SLIC but none of this changed dates anymore.
I think I may have to go back to the original bios. when I am booting up I can't get into the bios menu. The F10 button is used for that but it will not load the bios menu. If I press esc for the boot order I get a bios checksum error. The pc then reboots and loads the default setting but I still can't get into the bios. I mover the cmos jumper but I still can't get into the bios. What do you think? Update: I tried booting with a wired keyboard and mouse and I was able to get into Bios Menu. Put my wireless kb and mouse back on and the keyboard is not recognized until the pc gets beyond the options screen. I never had any problems entering the bios with the wireless setup before. Have you run into this before?
It is enabled. I will keep it like is is and swap to wired until I get the operating system changed to the OEM install.
