I think I may have to go back to the original bios. when I am booting up I can't get into the bios menu. The F10 button is used for that but it will not load the bios menu. If I press esc for the boot order I get a bios checksum error. The pc then reboots and loads the default setting but I still can't get into the bios. I mover the cmos jumper but I still can't get into the bios. What do you think? Update: I tried booting with a wired keyboard and mouse and I was able to get into Bios Menu. Put my wireless kb and mouse back on and the keyboard is not recognized until the pc gets beyond the options screen. I never had any problems entering the bios with the wireless setup before. Have you run into this before?
It is enabled. I will keep it like is is and swap to wired until I get the operating system changed to the OEM install.
I just found out the problem with my wireless keyboard not working during boot. It has dual function keys across the top. The F10 key for getting into the bios is also used for spellcheck. The keyboard has an F-Lock key, it needs to be on and it was not. I have no problems with it now. Thanks for your all you help. Also I got the OEM OS activated using the manual way that you pointed me to. Thanks again.
if it has hp slic with matching cert in dvd.. why not. and even if it didnt match u can bypass typing a key and activate within 14 to 30 days. with proper cert and key
