    Ignore this post. I forgot that I could flash awdflash from DOS. I made a bootable USB drive and loaded awdflash on it along with the updated HP BIOS and flashed. I then did the same with the modded BIOS and I am now showing SLIC 2.1.

    likely you have to use older version bios ..also might have to be done in USB SPI programmer if the bios id is different and it wont let u recover sometimes.
