So the Winphlash utility just crashes when you attempt to run the update.

I've tried different versions, old and new, and it still just crashes.

EDIT: After trying the version B file in the newest version of winphlash, it attempted to write the file then failed, and bricked the BIOS.

I've already made a backup, but I'm creating the recovery drive to get this to work.

    What a pain.

    Recommendations?

I did see that mention, but the issue is that the only flash that went through was the B-type, and then it complained with an error message, so I didn't expect that it was going to take.

On the recovery page, all the links that hold those files (including the PDF for the jumper boot block) are rapidshare links, and can no longer be accessed. I do know that the jumper on pins 1 and 2 on the set need to be moved to pins 2 and 3 to allow the recovery BIOS update to take.

That page needs to be updated with new links though.

I've done a partial disassembly on the laptop to locate the jumper pins, but because it's an HP, it's taking an incredibly long time to disassemble and is being a pain in the ass.

I've already created the recovery drive.

The laptop powers up, and the status bar with the touch-sensitive context and media buttons light up blue, but the screen stays black. It won't do anything further.

I'll be attempting to locate the jumper pins tomorrow, when I have a bit more time.
