    If you check the sp numbers for the installation file and they are the same, then the BIOs would work.

    If not, I'd advise flashing it.

    Yes, the original BIOS download link and sp from both dv9904ca and mine - dv9925nr are exactly the same. Knowledgeum, what method did you use for BIOS upgrading ? Should I upgrade BIOS with HP utility from Windows or from floppy/thumbdrive USB DOS based ? :confused:

    I extracted the files from hp's site, deleted all of it except the swinflash folder, placed the modded file in that folder (renaming to bios.wph) and ran the flashfile, followed the prompts, rebooted when it wanted to and confirmed everything was still working.

    Very interesting and helpful info indeed ! I'll follow your instruction to upgrade BIOS right now and report back if its succesful. There's at least one more member with same HP laptop here asked me for this modBIOS too. Thanks for your very quick response ! Cross my fingers now :)

    Thanks for the answer.

    I don't like to play 'games' right now because I had 2 MB's (Asus K8V-X and Asrock K7S8X) down while using the modded BIOS's from MDL! The later (K7S8X) I was warned before but not for the K8V-X.

    For the Laptop is a different game! I don't like to get them spoiled as well!

    So better I wait for an "EXPERT"
