It says Award-Phoenix or Phoenix-Award. You should not rely on these reporting tools for anything. I would suggest KNOWING what you have before you go modifying it..Just a suggestion... Phoenix makes Award bios now, they merged in 1997, or thereabouts, but the bios structures were maintained. Since they offer bios to many OEMs, I think it is the manufacturers choice as to which they use..If the Manufacturer offers many different options (modules) then Award is the ticket..easier to modify to specific needs. Phoenix is not modification friendly, as a rule.. Most high performance boards use Award or AMI for the modular design..
He is correct...your bios is AWARD and not Phoenix.....where you probably get mixed up is the term PHOENIX......Phoenix makes all bios. Basically there are 3 bios - AMI - Award - Phoenix. All three are made by Phoenix and yet each is different from the other.
Yep I just extracted the BIOS file myself, glad to see awdflash.exe. I guess I wanna try to mod the bios myself since the tool is already available. which method do you suggest? 0+2?
sure 1234s282 did, but i think i will try with Dell SLIC myself. which method do you recommend? thanks
FYI..I do not believe that AMI is made by Phoenix.. American Megatrends Inc is separate from the others. Award Software was acquired by Phoenix Technologies in the late 1990's Unless there has been a huge merger in the last few years..there are now the "big two" traditional type Bios developers..offering three brands. Cant wait for EFI/UEFI, huh???
