So, I made a mistake between .ROM and .WPH - the same principle holds true....

 

ok, but it is not possible, update failed with this message:

"Platform Signature not Found in the interface"

 

That does not negate the principle....all it means is that the method of your flash may be unfounded.

Are you flashing in DOS or Windows?

What are the switches, if any, that you are using to flash the bios?

Try flashing using Winphlash if PHLASH17 does not work for you but I happen to know it does work with fijitsu

i try both DOS and WINDOWS

Windows is not possible, Message: not valid or damaged, image verification failed, Error code: -149

DOS is not possible, Message: Platform Signature not Found in the interface

i use this switches
PH161700.EXE /x /mode=3 /force bios.wph

i try this allso

ph161700 BIOS.WPH /x /s /c /mode=3 <ENTER>

same message "Platform Signature not Found in the interface"

Hi,

You need to use the flasher that comes with the sony bios updater. So, extract it from the .exe file and replace the bios.wph with the new one.

im going to try recover at work today as i dont have a usb floppy here and usb pen drive didnt work

 

Sony has WBFLASH which you can use to flash bios in DOS...try that one...extract from the executable file that you originally gave for me to modify.

Also, you may have to rename the modified bios file to bios.wph
