under windows it would flash but no SLIC was found in bios after update. but once i managed to flash it from dos it worked perfect thanks to you.
to be honest with you i was pretty discouraged, i checked in vista section and there were quite few request for the exact model but none worked!
any way thanks again now we know it has to be updated in dos mode.

Did you use the switches that I gave in my post to flash bios in DOS or did you use some different switches?

The report is made of the modified BIOS flashed using ph161700 /x bios.wph. I tried your suggestion with phlash16 but it seems the /force switch is not supported. I tried Phlash16 /O bios.wph but the phlash utility just hangs forcing a manual reset.

there is so many files in that dl, so all i do to upgrade is is go into "modified and orginal bios" extract the 309B1F54_SLIC.WPH and 309B0F54_SLIC.WPH to the folder modified and orginal bios and run swinflash.bat correct/ and thats all? or do i need to rename the 309B1F54_SLIC.WPH to bios.wph and if so you said swinflash will choose the one i need so should i rename them both? plz help step by step plz

If you are speaking of 911medic, he always mod his bios....I have no clue as to why mine is 3 mb....I never think about it and it has no bearing whatsoever of whether his not modified and mine is...that is not the factor.

i not sure of the procedure but Busykid508 usually inclueds detailed instructions on how to flash. also the possible reason for the larger size could be due to the original bios, modded one, flash utilities, recovery utilities, certs, intructions, ect. all these do add up in size. i`m not home,(at work using my phone) to download and look at the files to view but thats my fair guess.
on a side note did you fix the issues with the usb yet?

Well, I finally got it to work. I flashed with the following switches PH161700.EXE BIOS.ROM /O /Force /X /C /S and Windows 7 is now activated. The instructions in the modified bios were ph161700 /x bios.wph. I'm not sure if the placement of the switches has anything to do with the issues I had. Thanks again Busykid.
