That is great but we need to know which of the 2 modified bios files worked to activate windows 7.....after all, this information is not just for your understanding but is needed for all those who are out there and have the exact same bios version as yourself---we record this information for others.
They offer different files for different hardware configs. Different video,audio,etc. Usually, the batch file reads a string in the eeprom and flashes the correct file automatically. You need to figure which one it chooses.. You could maybe get the HP advisor thingy to tell you the bios you need. I think I do not like the way they work though..analyzing the computer and all. Without adding the platform data to the backup, the files will not flash. I do not have the time to cut the backside off of one and attach to another. Sounds simple...it is not. EDIT: just had converse with davidxxw...the tool does not put platform data back. it is same as phlash tools...
