I am trying to follow your directions which give instructions of creating a bootable USB tool using the instructions which call for a download of HP USB Disk Storage Tool - at least according to the files you have included. As I say, as far as I know my laptop can not boot from USB. How should I proceed? e.g "-PHLASH Bios Update Tool Included - However, I strongly recommend to flash BIOS in DOS using PHLASH17 (PH161700) on bootable USB flash Drive - Rename modified bios file GS2V105_SLIC.ROM to GS2V105.ROM and at command prompt in DOS, type: ph161700 /x /FORCE /O /C /S GS2V105.ROM <ENTER>" Is this one flash step or two? I'm grateful for your assistance but it's not as clear as I expected it would be in relation to my other bios mod flashes on the same machine.
I don't know why you are making something so complicated when it is not... Step 1 - Prepare the USB FLASH DRIVE to make into a BOOTABLE DEVICE Step 2 - While preparing that bootable usb flash drive, there is a step in there of how to place the MODIFIED BIOS FILE but rename it before you do that.. What is so hard about that...No one has ever told me that those steps were complicated until today and I have been on this forum for many months.
OK fine I get that bit but I don't think you're hearing me either to be fair - my laptop doesn't boot from USB! Hence my previous mods were made either command prompt within windows or ISO. I have been quite clear - I wasn't getting funny with you, so please don't be with me. That's fair isn't it?
Try flashing in windows but I don't think it will work and so, make a bootable CD if you want and if you have NERO it will create a bootable CD for you.
