No, I don't think this is a trend of SONY for this appears to only occur with bios updates of older machines, those before vista
My laptop is not that old. i believe its last year's model. i bought it new and it came with original Vista home premium..
hmmmm....then I am not sure because the bios update is for xp I take that back...it was for Vista...sorry
Win7HP= Win7 Home Premium. Tried with a Technet ISO as well (Win7 Ultimate x64 ENG), that BIOS mod doesn't work. I've tried searching for the ROM/WPH, seems its wrapped inside the EXE.
I had similar issues with my slic 2.1 mod also!!! i wonder if its the same kind of issue. You could run "SLIC dump toolkit" and in the X&RSDT field see if you have any read lines... i've read online at places that this cause activation issues. I could be wrong though, this is atleast what i've been experiencing so far. my modded bios also showed slic 2.1 but windows would not activate even after install the certificate and key.. i though the key had been disabled by M$...
No, the key has not be deactivated....windows 7 has this new technology called WAT which replaces Genuine Activation.....WAT came out in the USA 4 days ago and I passed Genuine Activation of my Lenovo Ultimate Key which everyone on the internet was saying would be deactivated once WAT came out...sorry but it was not....I am genuinely activated.... How did you resolve activating windows before?
Thanks BK. Lemme get hold of Medic. I hope he will have something for me in his kitty. Again, appreciate your effort.
