I just noticed something in your post...you have MSI and HP...which is it? MSI or HP?

If it is HP then most likely you have Phoenix.....don't confuse the modders with conflicting posts.

if you read it all(my original post) carefully it is an HP DX 2300 machine. they use a MSI 7336 board in it with their custom HP bios.

I am in the same boat as yourself....I cannot extract the file...it is impossible to do so...the member will have to figure out a way to extract it.

First, there is no Autoexec file and there is only one modified bios file...did you even look in the folders that you downloaded or did you just open one folder and made the assumption that what you were seeking was not there and therefore, does not exist in your files that you downloaded....

You need to read the INSTRUCTIONS - READ ME 1RST to understand what you are doing

Yeah I realized; sorry about that. Modified BIOS file is basically the WPH file while the DOS flash utility is PH161700.exe. It's pretty much what I did the first time.

Right now I'm getting a black screen though; trying to recover my BIOS although I'm not sure whether I should wait or just shut down my laptop (the hard drive light indicator is blinking once in a while).
