    Sorry I cannot help with that issue, I just saw that it someone had asked already for and received a working version for the same board and bios revision. I see about 5 or so posts later he says he had success after following a few other pointers from busykid508 and Yen

    A sony slic will not match a dell one..do not use the verify button, it will (has) confuse you..

    Use a sony slic and mod the bios..If you have already upgraded with factory bios, you must downgrade before flashing the mod..it will not let you flash a same version rom..

    The BIOS he supplied is for another model, FZ35 instead of FZ31. I don't know if that's just a typo, how can I check?

    I couldn't find a Sony slic here, maybe you've got a link?
    I did not upgrade the factory BIOS since there is no newer one. Also, the one supplied in my initial post was a backup'ed one, and meanwhile i know that those won't work.
