Use the right thread..this is Award and not phoenix bios..do it yourself with the award slic tool..very easy.
That's what I first thought. It's not actually my laptop, and sadly I don't have it available to test with right now. All I can think is that somehow the OS has been corrupted somehow by an activator and is in need of a re-install... As I said in my last post, I tried using VOATK 2.5 to remove any activators on the system. Is there another tool I should ask my colleague (whose laptop it is) to try? Perhaps Samsung have done something clever to detect changes to the SLIC info? That said, after running VOATK, even the SLIC 2.0 in the stock 11SU BIOS didn't show up in the SLIC Toolkit program... Very confusing. FWIW, I flashed using DOS. I downloaded a previous mod of the 10SU BIOS and replaced the BIOS.WPH that came with it with the one I modded. I figured that was the safest bet at getting the switches correct and using the right version of the flashing tool. Unfortunately my colleague needs the 11SU BIOS as it adds support for 4GB of RAM and 64-bit OS usage. There was, apparently, some sort of bug in the earlier revisions of the BIOS that caused the system to crash with more than 3GB of RAM installed. Thank you for looking into this for me. --suggestable
