Thanks for looking into the issue, i think we both hit the same wall at the same time, by the time I came back to give feedback i could see your edit. BTW a little off topic, but the new BIOS revision supplied by Dell is same for OS less as well with OS 1564s. So the Dell BIOS flash does not "touch" the SLIC table at all? Or it looks for a marker and flashes the "correct" version in BIOS minus the SLIC table? Wishful thinking is, could it be possible to "trick" the flash utility into flashing the new BIOS with the SLIC table? A little new to this business, you see.
I just tried to Tick "Only Alter RSDT and XDST Tables", the tool managed to mod the bios successfully, but until you flash it, you would never know.
Thanks for the info! I was unsure if it should go in Phoenix or Award, I'll post in the Award thread though. Thanks again.
Not to be condescending, but you should know at least what type of bios you have before you flash it.....
Couldn't agree with you more. I wouldn't say I'm dense in the BIOS flashing field, but I'm definitely not an expert. I do know I have the correct BIOS, as I've just now ran the update to upgrade from R2.04 to R2.05. I've already flashed the BIOS for my two Dells, but I suppose that's a little easier than an old custom computer. I guess having the whole "Phoenix Award BIOS" text in my face when I start the computer had me kinda confused.
