you need to do this under command prompt, cd to the bios directory, then issue the following winphlash.exe /spi /sd /nochk R0096N0.WPH
Fantastic - that got it! I had to use the WinPhlash.exe that came with the original BIOS (version 1.6.2.1.S1) as the one that came with the modified BIOS (version 1.4) didn't like the command line switches. Thank you very much! Another satisfied customer
Thank you for response. I got it. I checked the difference and on the end of wph file is data about flash device. I got the response from Gateway, no BIOS for this machine. But I have other idea to take flash out of the laptop and flas**t with programmer. I'll see and I will let you to know, if that will works. Thank you anyway
Thank you for finding me the bios for my laptop but that is an actually older than what came on my laptop. I don't know what changes they made between the revisions since Clevo doesn't seem to provide and info on their bios files and I have had a couple bricks created by rolling back to an older bios. I'll keep banging my head on the table trying to figure out the one that came on my laptop. Thanks for your help though.
ok keep the phlash.ini file in there, create another file call flash.bat with the following contents Code: AFUWIN R1100Y0.ROM /P /B /N /E right click on flash.bat, select run as administrator, then follow on-screen instruction.
