Nope, nothing happens when trying to booth from my USB flashdrive. All files are there ok but i just get a black screen with a white "dot" blinking in upper left corner _ and no way to write anything
Then I have no more answers for you...you need to find someone who knows how to flash a bios.....you apparently are not flashing it correctly... Who modified your bios? Was it me who modified it?
You can change drive letters by clicking Start, then right clicking on My Computer and choosing "Manage Computer" and then click on "Disk Management", click on your Thumb Drive in the list and right click and choose "Change Drive Letter" and set it to B.
OK...Totally hacked off now, I bricked my Sony...No-ones fault but my own...BUT!!!!! ........ Crisdisk does NOT work for sony laptops (unless you're very lucky)...have looked everywhere for clue, stripped the laptop down to unplug cmos battery and still no change... Key Config of Fn_b, Fn+f, Win+b, Win+F, Either with esc-F1-F2...ect..nothing will kick the external USB drive. Unless someone knows of the right Key sequence, do not be feeling confident if you have a crisdisk utility cos when its Like mine...its useless. Laptop switches on, Screen Blank, Power Led on...Hard disk and CD flash momentary and then nothing...press Power button and battery light will flash..thats it...NDA on USB Floppy...(and it works).. This is no way aimed at the good folks giving their time modding ppl's bios'es..they're doing a great job. This is aimed at anyone with a sony...BEWARE..CRISDISK....not reliable. I am in no way a cabbage when it comes to this stuff but sometimes a peice of kit just is design in a way to piss us off....SONY is one of them der buggers. IF anyone does know the correct key sequence then I'll give it ago..(Not the same one's repeated all over the web..they do nothing for my VGN) I'll give ya a hug..otherwise..BE CAREFUL. The G
But before I flashed I removed the loader for Windows 7 and also used VOATK Tools v.2.5 to remove any others. How do I know if any loaders are present?
Yes I did precisely as you advised. However, I would like to bring to your notice that the line "53 20 00 10 ......." or something like that which identifies 2.1 bios was neither in the original bios nor in the modded one. Maybe that is the cause..........
