Well, to 'brick' is putting it in the right context because after the BIOS flash, I had turned my 1730 into basically.......a brick!!! It weighs as much as one, and was just as useless! - The laptop would not stay powered on after the flash. Lol - somebody from Dell is probably watching this!...........but yes, I got a new board fitted with a vanilla A11 BIOS installed as standard - runs much cooler with this BIOS, but sadly my 7 now needs activating Here's hopeing that someone else out there has succeeded where I failed. BUT I will wait for the results of the flash this time! (in other words some other guinea pig can try it lol)
imatrix My notebook is bricked after flash mod BIOS. My BIOS file is not WPH. I need PLATFORM.BIN. What shall I do? Help me please.
Following the instruction - rename FH2Q3A22.ROM to BIOS.ROM. FH2Q3A22 rename to PLATFORM.BIN too?????
I'm not too sure either, your original bios should already contain SLIC 2.1, but initially I thought it wasnt a complete SLIC 2.1. Do you have any loader installed?
I can provide a mod base on older version of phoenix mod tool, which were able to detect the SLIC in your bios just fine.
as your system came with Vista, your bios should already have SLIC 2.0. if you flash back the original bios, do you see SLIC 2.0?
imatrix Yeah. I flashed mod Bios No2. All works. Some questions for you. 1. I flashed mod Bios No2 with WinPhlash. Maybe if I flashed mod Bios No1 with WinPhlash than everything will be ok. By I dont know... 2. Method: SSv2 - Custom Settings - what is Custom settings? Can I see the screenshot? In the future I will try make mod Bios independently. Thank you very much.
