yeah, I probably shouldve thought about that before I figured out how to use the tool, ran it, it told me it was all good, and I managed to brick my board. oh well, I needed a reason to switch to a different machine. this is how one learns what a trashed bios is
With much fighting, I think I have found the answer. The LE1600 bios does not like the 2FE6F address being touched. I moved the SLIC to 70190 and so far so good. RW is now reporting the ASUS SLIC and it boots to windows XP. Next is to load 7 and see. I will post results and file if successfully.
