    With much fighting, I think I have found the answer. The LE1600 bios does not like the 2FE6F address being touched. I moved the SLIC to 70190 and so far so good. RW is now reporting the ASUS SLIC and it boots to windows XP. Next is to load 7 and see. I will post results and file if successfully.

    I also did run Pom117.exe and my computer restarted, but the SLIC was (and is) still 2.0
    The Slic ToolKit also reports Certificate Error: "No OEM certificate found!(Run as Administrator)" - can that be the cause?

    congrats mate. question, how did you know to stay away from address 2FE6F and move the SLIC to 70190?
