It is phoenix bios on my Inspiron 700m laptop. After research on net, there are two methods the extract the rom. 1st, in dos flash utility, use 700m_a07.exe -writeromfile or -writehdrfile to extract the rom file from the utility, which I tried but failed. It seems there is no such parameter for the 700m_a07.exe 2nd, use Winphlash Utility to backup it from the laptop rom. And this is the 700m_a07.bak file I provided. It's a rom file, just with . bak extension. Hope somebody can help me! Thanks!
Yes, looks like that way. I've got Phoenix Mod Tool v0.014 and I have tried to mod this BIOS myself, but got the same result as adrpat. BTW, where can I find newer Phoenix Mod Tool?
I thought, that there is a problem with the flash itself (maybe flashing with special commands is required). So i extracted the bios flash floppy, the flash.bat suggest to flash with /x /s - thats what i did So i have no clue whats wrong Damn i hate those phonix bios
It will not open for me in my Phoneix Mod Tool....I think this is a DELL Special Phoenix Bios which is almost hard to modify.
Is it enough just to rename it, because I have tried that already and it didn't work. I flash in DOS.
I flashed again ... now i only have slic 2.1 one but it won't activate. It is enough trying for today.
I have no clue...I just go off the website and don't read anything about it...if you have a special bios that is not on the website, I will attempt to mod it.
