    Hi,

I'd like to ask if somebody could modify the Acer Aspire 5738Z v1.34 BIOS so that it allows the user to set the CPU core frequency and the CPU cooling fan speed.

I have a few older Vista-era Sony VAIO computer systems that use Phoenix BIOS that I've been trying to update to have SLIC 2.1. They include the AR, FZ, and LT series.

I have the .WPH BIOS files for each one of these and have been using Phoenix Tool 1.8.5 and RW-Everything 1.5. I've also been using a SLIC 2.1 dump .BIN file that SLIC ToolKit 3.2 got from another VAIO that I have that shipped with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

All my modded BIOS end up with 'SLIC Status: Invalidated' and 'OEMID/TableID: XSDT !=' errors after I flash the systems and run SLIC ToolKit 3.2 to check things.

From searching this forum, I know that others have modded BIOS for the VAIO AR and FZ successfully. With the Phoenix Tool, I've used both the 'Dynamic' and 'SSV2' methods (default settings) with no positive results.

I want to learn how to do the mods correctly. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have a DELL SLIC? I have a Dell Win 7 disc, not an HP disc. Also, how can I update the BIOS? The download file isn't a normal bin file. Doesn't HP do it differently?

    Thanx.
