if so, looking at the installation data of old W8 it reads 7/26/2012 which means > RTM. So we could expect a leak of W8.1 shortly after June Preview :shisha:

Windows 8.1 is a service pack for Windows 8 under the guise of a new OS (it is a complete OS in it's own right). It's definitely not a band new operating system. The previous true 'brand new' operating system was Windows Vista. The reason for the change is it's much more marketable to do so.

What build number (6.3.xxxx) do people think the final will be? Obviously wouldn't be 9400, 9600 maybe? My guess the complete final build number would be 6.3.9600.16384

I like your thinking. I'm ready for Windows Blue/8.1/9/whatever.

Well i was going to say 9800.16385, but i see no harm in guessing what the final build will be.
I do agree with burf, that the rtm build will be around 9600-9800.1638x. Enjoy your cup of tea, i much prefer hot chocolate:)

I do wonder if we'll ever see a NT build 10000 leak out or maybe even be a round-up of a RTM build for 8.1.
