I need to disable a component of DirectX, Wavetable GS Synth. Wavetable GS Synth is competing with my ASIO driver for audio and causing trouble with MIDI as well. This PC is set up for making music (Ableton Live). I found from a music related forum that Wavetable GS Synth’s registry entry is:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectMusic\SoftwareSynths\{58C2B4D0-46E7-11D1-89AC-00A0C9054129}]

Could someone please help me disable it? Do I ad a D-WORD? If so, could someone please walk me through it? I am sorry if this is amateurish. I am NOT a programmer (or anything close to most of the crowd here). This is a common problem. If someone can help me, I will pass the information along to those who need it. Thanks!
