That's just how InsydeFlash.exe verifies the bios rom. Since it was modified, then the verification fails. I wrote a tutorial on how to bypass it by modifying InsydeFlash.dll here

@Zeemanv2 Unfortunately you might have one of HP's unmoddable RSA signed bios. Try this out, just run InsydeFlash.exe to flash the new rom

    mediafire.com/?6ing2f04dc60x92

If you see this new logo, then we can mod it without any problems. I think you'll like this logo much more :p

Hide you HP_TOOLS partition and try flashing again. Without this partition, it wont be able to recover so then you'll be able to see if the new bios works. Just make sure you have a recovery flashdrive ready incase you bios are HP's unmoddable RSA signed bios.

Tried flashing after hiding "HP_TOOLS" partition bt same result as before, forced recovery .

What to do next? Try to flash after formatting Hp_tools partition?

I have recovery usb in my left hand.:D

If you want to keep the HP_TOOLS parition, then just rename it temporarily. Then you can preform the test without the recovery. After that you can rename it back.

Im not intrested in keeping hp_tools partition, im intrested only in flashing properly. After renaming if it finds it again it will do recovery again.
So cant i delete hp_tools partition n if something goes wrong i can recover from usb stick.

Yes you can delete HP_TOOLS if you want to. Your free to do whatever you need to do inorder to make sure it doesn't force the recovery. All we're trying to see right now is if your bios are HP's RSA unmoddable bios, and in order to do that we have to see if flashing will result in a brick or not.

I installed this ROM but unfortunately it led to a brick. Reading your blog at the moment to get a resolution. First time bricking a computer. Bricked androids a lot.

Renamed n hided HP_TOOLS partition n then flashed. This time no recovery straight to brick. :D

Ive recovered from it bt im started losing hope. Tried so many things bt of no use looks like im come back from where ive started, back to zero. But it inst affected my desire to mod my bios n im still on fire. :oxydul:

Btw can u tell me from where we can get this stupid prv8 RSA key of hp, or maybe u can tell who knows it ? ;)

So we can kidnap him n force him to tell us the key at gunpoint. :sniper::D:D

@Aft3rlife dont flash random things if u dont know how to recover. :empathy3:

Coz "Prevention is better than cure" or something like that. Who cares if this proverb fits in this situation or not my point is its always good to have backup.

    This will help u recover-"forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/35272-HP-Insyde-BIOS-recovery-steps"

O.T.- Btw u didnt tell me in which city do u reside?

That sucks, looks like its currently unmoddable since your laptop preforms a verification of its signature upon boot o_O

try to edit the jfif to same size and replace module.. then let phoenixtool encrypt it.. then open it again to make . sig with .bin.dec of edited splash ??

put that in the recovery partition instead

Man i tried to do the same thing at first place but i cant even look into module for logo. Changed extension to almost every usable format (.jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png) bt windows not letting me see it then how can i edit?o_O I have phoenix tool 2.18. Donovan said that andy has made some changes in ver 2.18 due to which first few bytes of module is to be deleted . Maybe thats why i cant look into it.

If u can edit n post the module i will be greatly thankful to u. And u can use pixlr editor advance (pixlr.com) coz it lets u choose the size of ur output file in .jpeg format.

    EDIT-------------------------------

Sorry if u thought this before but i was reading deez's post again n i thought, why not make a copy of backed up bios n edit it via ezh20 patch the small hp logo that comes default over the current logo save it n rename it 03564F6A.bin n replace the one from sp62234 folder. Then flash it via insydeflash? Could this be possible ? Thought to ask first, do later.

Yeah in xsearch i searched for JFIF in dump folder, it gave me 3 files bt i cant view/edit them no matter what i do? I asked this from donovan in his thread he told me that andy has made some mods in his ver. 2.18 . So u first have to delete some bytes of module only then it will u let view/edit it.

You must have ver. 2.14. There's no such problem in that. Ive tried to find ver. 2.14 but its nowhere to be found.

You can either send me link to andy's tool ver. 2.14

    Or

You can send me edited module. That would make things easy.

    Or

You can send me entire modified bios :p.

After 9-10 attempts i finally made the image size almost same as logo. Logo image is- 53,457 bytes~ 52.2KB n mine is 53,532~52.2 KB . Difference is only 75 bytes. I tried a lot bt cant make it exact same size. Edited, repacked bt it gave an error " Boot block cannot support to downgrade. The Bios will not be updated."

I think i have to modify iscflash.dll from donovan's post to get past this but that hex editing n all that numerals looks to me like things from another planet.

Btw u didnt answer cant i flash bios of another system with identical configuration?
