there a nice different between win7 and win8.1 at gaming area
Crysis works better i changed from low to medium [mouse movement will lag at medium with w7]
apps loads faster its looks w8 knows to effectively use SSDs now
dotNet4.5 is faster then 3.5 internal apps runs and ready faster
Security is better but maybe Microsoft to blame

    unlike
still don't like metro but startisback doing the job
its not comfort to look over metros Squares for app to run
to tablet its comfort but desktop users its weird
mb arranging it bit different might help

My view remained the same since Win8 was released. I don't dig the touch-centric UI, but really like the under the hood improvements. I just wished MS didn't throw down the start menu improvements in Win7.

Once you install a third party app such as Classic Start Menu and forget about that 30" monitor ugly joke the OS is not that bad. It is the requirement of the third party app and the force feed of the 2"x4" desktop icons that gets under my skin. I think until metro is an install option M$ will be left in the dust. It takes this long and in small steps and it is still is not fixed because of arrogant ignorance. It is like pulling teeth to get these kids to fix a blatant obvious flaw. Hey M$ we use IPhone and androids and screwing up our desktop will not change that. What steams lossless tunes the best may :D.

    Regards

I voted "No Change" because I like the improvements made under the hood, but DESPISE Metro! I purchased four copies of Windows 8 to take advantage of the introductory low price. I still have 2 unused and only have installed Windows 8 (and upgraded to 8.1 Update) on 2 of my computers because I need to be familiar with it to support others. Fortunately I was able to configure my machines so I never have to look at the horrible "Lego" interface.

Laptop 1: Dual boot Linux and Windows 8.1
    Laptop 2: Linux only
    Laptop 3: Windows 7 only
    Laptop 4: Windows 7 only
    Desktop 1: Multi-boot Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and 2 versions of Linux
    Desktop 2: Linux only

@Nimbus2000 - Couldnt help but notice. I went to the same boarding school. ...You at Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff? ;) I bet you're at Hufflepuff, surely. They all seem to dislike innovation, discovery and exploration. ...and hate all bright colored things. :D

Actually, I am faculty. Despite the Junior Member tag here, I am way too old to be a student

yo Luciano, ...not a bad word over M$s crown jewels. ;)

Mega Fashion Show ring a bell? That 'jewellery collection' spontaniously vanished into thin air and you ended up behind bars. :laie:
