I have an ASUS KCMA-D8 motherboard running Coreboot firmware. Boots Linux fine, but when trying to start Windows installers (W7 SP1 and W10 1809), I get an ACPI_BIOS_ERROR BSoD, and it mentions that my BIOS has an incomplete ACPI implementation. As I understand, with Windows XP, it was possible to disable ACPI at install time by pressing F7 at some point. There's guides that say this should be possible with 7-10, but I've had no luck in doing it (pressed F7 at various points; not sure if it registered ever, but still got the BSoD every time). Is it still possible to disable ACPI before installation? One idea I have is to install Windows 10 with the ASUS vendor BIOS, disable ACPI from the working install, and then swap the BIOS chip back to the Coreboot one. But I have no idea if disabling ACPI is possible. Any suggestions?
