Hi, I am moving lot of data lately from several HD's. But lot of times I get a 'long path' error message in W7 64b.

I read the hotfix Fix475608 will fix this issue. I hoped updating W7 would fix the issue but it didn't work.

But I don't have a clue yet how to download hotfixes (do I find answers in the hotfix depositery thread for this? as I have found it quite unclear what to do at the moment).

I have found this site, indeed, using Google . But I got the error message: "the update is not applicable to your computer". Didn't look further after this.

I know robocopy can be a good alternative. Maybe I can check if I can download the kb number, or find solution for this error message. I don't know.

This delivers the same file as link earlier mentioned.

Same error message: "Not applicable to your computer".

I think I get this error cause a later update got this fix in it.

I am not able to send links yet but this site have some information about it: htp://support.microsoft.com/nl-nl/kb/3057448

Edit: Well, I still can't move files due to long path error.

I have installed and used all those sites above (all leads to same file so it seems). No result :-(

I go with robocopy tomorrow... Ugly workaround, but so be it.
