Ok, this is strange - never heard of it happening, and I don't really see how it's related to Windows Update, but it only started after the most recent updates. The system boot fine, but goes straight into Windows (after a long period and a series of the monitor signal going on & off). BUT this only seems to happen with the Display Port. If I switch it over to using HDMI, it's fine. Anyone have any ideas?
Well, it *looks* like it might just be the Display Port going bad - everything seems to work fine with the HDMI. Fortunately the unit is still under mfr's warranty (ASUS), so I'll be calling them about it tomorrow. Anyone heard of ports going bad like this? If it's not the port, then I've no idea what it is - I tried going back 2 driver versions AND using the driver uninstaller (from guru3d) - still can't see any POST (or the Windows boot logo) when using the Display Port. Don't have any spare DP cables,s o I can't check if it's the cable.
