@ Acrsn. As promised here are the overclock settings used on my rig. As ive already stated, its not my own work so the credit has to go to the pro's that did it for me. i7 2600k / Gigabyte G1 Killer - Sniper 2 Z68 LGA 1155 BCLK = 100.32 MHZ Multiplier = 46 Vcore = 1.44 v Dram = 1.5 v QPI / vtt = 1.3 v Load line = level 10 C1E & EIST disabled Memory timings ( Corsair Vengeance) tCL = 9 tRCD = 9 tRP = 9 tRAS = 24 tRRD = 6 tWTP = 24 tRFC = 138 tCMD = 1
thanks, I have a feeling that I can push this past 4Ghz, for there has been no noticeable negative effect from this. the only thing is that I'm afraid to push this celeron too much with stock cooling. so far though temps are not high--60-64C @ 100% spikes which are really no higher than it ever was at stock frequency. i'd like to be in the 50-55C range though, hence the need for new a new cooling device. i also have a new pentium d 945 @ 3.4Ghz on the way with fan and heatsink, so OC'ing too much is unnecessary at the moment. (I know it's nothing too special but it's the absolute most my mobo can handle, so i'm going to push it
@ alextheg Your CPU will not last long with them where extreme settings (QPI/vtt max for 24/7 is about 1.2v, 1.1 is good for memory rated 2000Mhz+) and your vcore you should be able to decline to about: 1.3v - 1.37v.
@ Robalm . I think the higher voltages are due to the large amount of RAM I'm using (16 gb ). At any rate, I don't run OCd all the time. Stock speed of 3.8 ghz is pretty adequate by any standards
