Intel Core2Duo@stock [email protected] How do you guys overclock that? I checked my bios but I cannot find anything like that there. Have a asus p5gc-mx/1333. Thanks
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 ghz @ 3.85 Ghz with artic cooling Any person who doesn't overclock a i5 or i7 well thats just sad... I don't think you can push the 965 beyond 4 Ghz even if I wanted to... Any word on if thats possible???
True I did ask if it was possible maybe I should rephrase the question is it possible to hit beyond 4 GHZ with water or air cooling but yea I get what you mean... And as to why I use "lol" all the time its pretty much because I can and well I don't have much of an excuse after that... I'll probably not get what the I7 or for that matter the I5 maybe is getting but for the price its awesome...
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz , I would overclock it like I did to my old E5200 (3.2Ghz OC) but my motherboard has a FSB Limit 26 - 35 -Idle 45 - 50 -Full Load Cooled by a ASUS Triton 81 (This is my first post LOL)
I was kinda embarrassed to come here, but Im not any more. So here goes: Q6600 2.4ghz OC'd @ 3.0ghz. (IDLE TEMPS) Motherboard38 °C (100 °F) CPU #1 / Core #127 °C (81 °F) (lowest temp was 24) CPU #1 / Core #223 °C (73 °F) (lowest temp was 18) CPU #1 / Core #320 °C (70 °F) (lowest temp was 18) CPU #1 / Core #420 °C (70 °F) (lowest temp was 20) (P95 STRESS TEST) CPU #1 / Core #147 °C (117 °F) CPU #1 / Core #245 °C (113 °F) CPU #1 / Core #341 °C (106 °F) CPU #1 / Core #441 °C (106 °F) Now if I could get me a better mobo, and take some pics, I'll be able to join the "post pics of your rig open thread"
A Q6600 at 3.0GHZ really isn't pushing it much at all, you can go further. Lovely temps you have though. Watercooling? Then again if you're on stock volts it probably runs pretty cool and canouna... an i5 and an i7 and STOCK?! That's a criminal offense!
"PSYB0RG" If you dont have a "water cooler" something in wrong. I dont get 47c in load on my stock settings and i have a noctua nh-u12p running at full fanspeed.
No 47c in load is what i have in idle, and my cpu cooler is almost as good as your (if not better) And "full load" is not prime95 And if you have 20c idle you MOST have like 10c in your house.
Q9400 @ 3.28GHz here. Modified P5Q bios 2208, with these mods: - New p6 microcode (which added C4E option is CPU features in bios, which after the flash was set to disabled (obviously disabled by default) - Intel ROM 9.6.0.1014 - Atheros LAN ROM (not really needed, but it was there to update ) - Memory table from a newer ASUS P45 board (haven't really tried, but this can improve overclockability apparently) - SLIC 2.1
LOL. Oh, sorry I misunderstood you. Actually, your whole rig setup is better than mines to be honest, and I can probably guess that your room is much cooler than mines as well. My room temp has to be in the high 70's. It be hot as hell in my room due to poor AC venting. Its so hot, I also have a fan in here to help keep the temps down, which is barely doing that. So im guessing my room is maybe 24-29C. I also have 5 fans on this thing and you see that my mobo temps are about 100 degrees. So my room is quite warm, but the whole house is alot cooler than my room tho, but I keep my room door shut at all times. Maybe you should try the Corsair for a few days or a week and see if it does the same thing for you, I think its a hell of a product, I also think u may stick with it and sell your Noctua to a friend. How do I put my cpu under full load with anything other than Prime 95? I want to try that and report my results to you. UPDATE: Well, I just downloaded intelburntest 2.4 (im having trouble finding the right linpack app) I set it for 16 threads, 5 tests, but i couldnt set it for very high due to some error I was getting. But upon running the burntest, I was getting the same results that I posted, but actually a lil lower. Here are the MAX PEAK I got. Core0- 44 Core1- 44 Core2- 42 Core3- 42 But the average temps I got were Core0- 42 Core1- 42 Core2- 40 Core3- 40 Im still working on trying to obtain the linpack.
Well i was oc'd on my Q6600 @ 3.0ghz from 2.4ghz. However i just bought 4gb of Kingston Hyperx ram (ddr2 800mhz) and now i cant even oc past 2.4ghz. Im thinking this must be to do with dram voltage ?
