54 seconds for my Dell Studio 15 running Windows 7 Ultimate. Guess that's pretty alright since it's a rather stock T6500 equipped notebook with a single piece of 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM.
why are so many users preoccupied with restart times , I normally go for a pi** or make a cuppa ,or just stretch my legs ,whats the big deal .I have a couple of machines running dual ,triple and quad core at the moment ,my best machine averages around 40-45 seconds if I use the hard drives ,using hyperdrive4s raided gives me boot times of around 4 seconds from cold and 5-8 seconds for a full restart , the average times are because I have several OSs on each PC , most is 11 at the moment . also the above VBS script does not really give accuracy as several programs were still in the process of loading after the time was displayed (ie. desktop not fully loaded.)
