i find this one one of the better, cause it unlocks some hidden features in win7. read the original post in the link. win explorer though has made some good improvements since xp, and even compared to vista's explorer.

Most of the not so computer savvy people think that before 'Windows' PCs everything was text and commandline. Im sure if you showed them an AMIGA or an ST (or other early systems) they couldnt believe how familiar it feels because all of the basics such as movable windows, clickable icons, dropdown menus, scrollbars, popup windows, folders/drawers etcetera are already present here too.

Makes you wonder how much has really changed, too. At least on the surface it seems to be mostly optics and eye candy because the basic principle of operation is practically still 100% the same...

Speaking of Commodore; am i the only one who would love to see what AMIGADOS would look like today if it had been constantly developed over the last 20 years? Advanced as it was even at the time it might well be what Windows (unfortunately) was destined to become, which means that Microsoft would now be either selling 3rd-class addon-software or simply not exist anymore at all. (Gee i kinda like that thought.) :D

Too bad that Commodore is no more...im sure something like a AMIGA-PC with AMIGAWIN 2010 would be just sick...

I made this customization years ago. Keep in mind also that every button I made for this config above is a three-button, i.e. for one toobar button: Left-Click does a function, right-click does another function, and middle-click does a third function. Do you know of any explorer replacement that can do this?

I used to be a loyal user of PowerDesk for years but after I discovered Directory Opus, I can't go back.

Since Vista and now Win7 Explorer sucks a lot for me, M$soft gaved functions in Xp that where removed .....

The only good explorers to me are Xplorer2 and now Explorer ++

They keep the right click context menu, a few of the "others" explorers have this problem.

Fast simple, not bloated and portable

it's difficult to get a crack for this software. I think total commander is much easier.
