Hello. I installed Windows XP VOL License, and it's activated.
I modded my BIOS with SLP 1.0 to activate OEM license (I use Acer laptop). So, I must deactivate my windows by the following way:
I only do from step 1 to step 5 to deactivate.
After that, I use tool "VLK and OEMBIOS changer" by 911medic but after restart, OS say that it's not activated.

    I don't understand where I do a mistake.

Now, I want to activate OEM license. Please help me.
    Thanks.

Why did you deactivate it again?? This is absolutely unnecessary...

You need to be sure you have the ACER oembios files for your computer, and use them...

If you modded the bios with "acer laptop", that is not correct either...

OK. I have a question about the registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents\OOBETimer

I see the value of OOBETimer implies the windows is activated or not. But when I use your tool, it don't update the value of OOBETimer so that windows will be activated.

And what is the importance of OOBETimer's value in OEM licensed Windows XP?

    Thanks.

yea, you're doing it all wrong. what system do you have? a laptop? a desktop? which brand/model?

if you want to use acer for the SLP, it should be "AcerSystem". you'd need the corresponding oembios files for acer. then use 911medic's tool.

it should work, i can vouch for it
