Thanks for all the advice, even with the OEM copy I still managed to do something wrong as it wasn't activating. In the end I used the Acer one from another thread and it worked off the bat. Maybe if I need to install on another machine I'll work out how I managed to screw it up so many times but for now I'll keep a copy of that disk in case I need it again.
