You can but in case of emergency you could not restore or recover! I wouldn't lose just that!!

Good for you! And how often you have to make a new image of your Windows partition? If you use it for to really work, may quite often! And thinking about the not so experienced user, the way MS is providing with that automated renew of that stages, and give also the opportunity to not go one step only, there more available.

    Thanks all for your replies

But I'm really a bit confused ! I'm only using windows 7 on my laptop and only one internal hardisk , and don't really have another one to use !
and I have the windows 8 on my USB ,to install it from !

And i said I was preparing pre formatted partation ! but it didn't work with either ! So how can i install the windows ? and mainly I just want to try it

    Thanks

Hey Super, where is the 40GB partition you created, I don't see it. It should work without the need for any external drive. Make one, make it NTFS, know the letter it gets assigned and you good to go:D

If you are referring to the unallocated space with the star in front of it, then it wont work like that, you need to make it a partition. You may have just created the space only, now you need to allocate it

    Hi!
i think your "unalocated partition" of 48.83 Go shoud be allocated and in activ mode for success.

Noo !! you understood wrong what i wanted

I left it unallocated space ,and in the setup I created a new partition from this space and installed on it !!!

and That's what I have done to install it ^^
