Yeah, it shows 4gb. it's not even picking up my RAM in Channel A.

    Nope, it's a retail version i've installed.

    "Softmods of bootloaders" !?!?

    Thanks so far,
    Kieran.

Preactivated vista from a download == Vista loader == bootloader :D

The vista i installed is a retail version. I did crack it though. After i cracked it i had a problem with a program not being supported. That was it.

what do you suggest i do!? :(
My cracked vista was working fine untill i tried to update it, then i got the bsod..

P.s What if it redone my vista again? restalled the retail version to see if it would work, you think that would help at all?

Seems to be more of a hardware problem tbh.

    Thanks,
    Kieran.

There is probably a bios mod for it. Flash and activate. No more worries.
You will be installing Vista quite a bit with a loader. Mod the bios, or just deal with the problems you will undoubtedly be having.

Or you could buy the vista..

Kind of a coincidence that the bsod and the memory thing happened after the update...IMO...M$ is hunting softmods..period:D

    Thanks!

UPDATE: I took out all the ram last night and it seems that my left slot on my mobo doesn't work. Also, i think my ram #1 doesn't work either...

1 - ram i've been getting problems with
    2 - works fine
    3 - works fine.

    i tried 2 & 3 in channel A, none of which worked.

I also tried 1 in slots B & C, it did the correct power procedure but nothing was recognized on the screen - so in turn, didn't load up.

    Any other idea's?

Or just continue with the bios?

I think the bios is not the problem. You can try a flash. maybe it will help. if it doesnt, maybe an RMA of the board. Then flash the bios to activate the Vista the right way...
