Creat a shortcut of Chrome > Pin to Start. Now you have 2 titles of chrome on Start, You can Unpin chrome Metro Icon if you want
Alternately you can set another browser as default. Only the default browser opens as a Metro app of launched from the Start Screen. Or pin it to the taskbar and launch it from the Desktop to access both modes from a single install. Any program without a Metro mode will automatically launch to the Desktop from the Start Screen, so you won't have to worry about it happening with every program you install.
