Ok then, thats simple. Only extract the certificate to c:\ and type this two lines in CMD as Administrator: Change dell with whatever certificate he need.... strange why he not getting this...you have told him about this before...
Daz, urie, timesurfer, MasterDisaster, and those who participated in offering solutions are good guys. They deserve some respect from the original poster for their continuous effort.
I read the OP's first post and browsed thru the succeeding posts. I might have missed some but it seems he should have a slic 2.1 if the laptop initially came with win7 pre-installed. If the mother board was replaced, why would they put in a replacement motherboard without slic 2.1? Anyway, it seems a lot have already been tried except Acer eRecovery. If the laptop did not come with a recovery dvd, it should have a recovery partition, provided it was not reformatted by the user. He can probably try using that option if the laptop was configured with the recovery option (*note to OP, this is not the same as restore). On boot up, press ALT + F10 or press ALT and keep tapping on F10 key, if it has eRecovery then a screen will pop up giving you the option to recover back to factory install. *Try Urie's solution first.
@ bluealien, Thanks for the info on acer recovery i had mentioned before to Elliot about recovery partition went straight over his head he ran windows system restore. Hopefully he can get it sorted i would be getting back to the Techs that replaced motherboard if they did replace it with older version with SLIC 2.0. The problem here is after all this bother if he ever needs to format were back to square one I don't understand how he managed to install Levono SLIC on Acer machine with loader.
ok i just got finished reading all the new posts and im sorry i started to act like a jerk. @bluealien my motherboard died so i got it replaced, when i got my laptop it had the same motherboard acer gave it. @urie i'll try the cert installer now.
I got this message again: On a computer running microsoft windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0x1A8' to display the error text. Error: 0x1A8
Ok I did exactly what MD said and I'm activated so this method with Smartmarks worked for me on a Compaq V3000
I think the above suggestion will also fail for him. Just went through his MGADiag report and it displays the same error message for the slmgr /dlv method. Lets get started with another method. Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type the following commands followed by an Enter Code: net stop sppsvc cd %windir%ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform rename tokens.dat tokens.bar net start sppsvc Restart your system twice Open Command Prompt as Administrator Type: slmgr -rearm Restart your system Run the Key Cert Branding Tool and click on Install Cert Open Computer Properties and check if "Windows is activated",
I did the above but the key cert branding tool didn't work it said "Key-Cert-Branding.exe Has Stopped Working. Windows is Trying to Find a Solution to the Problem" so what's wrong??
I find it unusual that you don't have slic 2.1 but weird things happen. Maybe Acer can clear things up for you. Anyway, the Acer eRecovery is all I can contribute here. Good luck to you. BTW, these guys that are helping you out... urie, daz, masterdisaster, timesurfer, sam, etc... these are the most helpful and patient guys you'll ever find. If they can't solve your problem, I am afraid your only option is to call Acer and request for a Recovery DVD, just not sure how much they charge or download the win7 rtm iso, reformat, reinstall and activate...) Hope things work out for you. *note Acer Aspire 5532 has an updated Bios on its website. Version 1.10 dated 3/15/2010 That might have slic 2.1
ok well i guess ill email acer and complain and send my laptop to them to have it activated cuz i emailed windows and they didnt give a flying f*** so ill have it activated by acer. (serves them right for giving me a new motherboard and not telling me what could happen)
