Hi, Anybody have problem with USB portable HD? I'm currently running Win7 Ultimate. If I plug-in my USB HD, in the Disk Management console, I can see the drive installed, but the status showing "Read Only". I tried different kind of enclosure and HD, but no luck. Also, in Windows Explorer, I can only see folders and files in the root, no subfolders and subfiles. If anyone of you guys know how to fix this, please share with me. THX....
For me, when I copy a file 1Go, the computer crash, just with a version x64, with the version x32, not problem ?? I think I not alove !! @+
I finally manage to solved the problem. Apparently, Windows 7 have this function where if the USB storage isn't getting enough power from the USB port, it will set the USB drive into Read-Only state to prevent corruption due to writing state. So, I use an old NOKIA charger (5.7V DC Output) to add power to the USB drive enclosure.
