Don't worry about it. I never use it anymore. I have never seen it do anything other than waste my time.
One thing that worked for me. Search the updates 30 minutes later since the release. I tried it and it works fine for me too. I'm very happy this month with the search time
And also possibly pre-loaded with all manner of malware and poorly though out system changes. If you don't know your source, you're just playing Russian Roulette.
W7 x64 updates stuck Downloading at 0 percent Hi today i have a w7 x64 laptop last updates from march, that gets stuck downloading at 0kb /0 % for 12 downloads, i tried waiting.. 2h and nothing, so tried sfc/scannow and registering some dlls, stopped the service via taskkill /pidnumber /f , to delete the contents of SoftwareDistribution, rebooted, still at the same point.. downloading 0K 0 % ... its making me crazy today ... Also tried changing DNS just in case but i didnt had much hopes with that..and of course it didnt matter. So going to try that KB3153199 you mentioned some posts above , will post results later. And no ,its not the internet connection, 30 mb fiber, downloads at 3.5Mb just tested a file..
I installed the standalone update Windows6.1-KB3153199-x64, wait 30 minutes downloading still at 0 kb 0%, so i downloaded and installed simplix pack 16-May i found here in MDL and i had like 7 updates pending, launched windows update ,after 15 min while still showing 0 percent it suddenly said it had succesfully installed the updates and had to reboot due to files in use.. So 4 updates pending now i thought "im in the right direction now", maybe it was the KB3153199 update but i didnt wait enough or maybe it was simplix pack. After that i rebooted and the pending downloads finally installed !! I was really starting thinking.. maybe Ms is delaying updates just to push windows 10. So either way MDL saved my day!! Thanks again
Windows Update appears to be broken alright! The most recent problem is error code 0x800F0902. I used to get 80080005, back in 2013, IIRC, but that code has yet to appear again. I'm lucky to even select 5 updates at a time without getting an error! Looks more like I'm gonna have to do 1-at-a-time and reboot for at least nearly 12 hours!
i just updated my windows 7 and it works fine.i had this problem on earlier this month were it keeps searching for update but nothing happens, solved it by installing KB3145739.keep in mind that i avoided all the windows 10 related updates include the one that fix the issue with high cpu and ram usage
After successfully removing Removewat with Watfix I was able to activate Windows Ultimate by using Windows loader 2.2.2. I am concerned however that after going to check for updates, and leaving it on overnight, to see that it has come up with nothing. Is this inability to fetch and install any updates indicative of some kind of installation failure?
