Problems installing Win7 on a PC that came with 8.1.

    I think it's easier and no margin for error doing without "convert" command.

    diskpart
    select disk <disk number>
    clean
    exit

    Let the W7 setup program to decide what partitioning style to apply. :)


    Unfortunately any our attempts to help are pointless as the OP decided to stick to W8.1 and install a W7 theme. :tooth:

    i did mine the other day but my sys is HP Pavilion 20 with touch screen. had to kill every security item in bios to install windows 7 pro oem.
    I do own 7 computers from a 486 upto a intel 1156 cpu oh and also a dam mac all in one with touchscreen..
    if you need or want to run 7 but hp slaped all this security crap just boot to bios and kill the lot then you should be sweet to run 95 and up on the pavilions. never tried it on others but all that security in bios for me its over kill
