I did a search and this came up pretty much identical to the problems I am having. I ran a sfc /scannow and it came back with: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations" I'll post the MGA report in the other post. thanks for your quick replies.
I want to make sure I got this all straight ... *) Freshly installed Win 7 Home Premium from Digital River on freshly partitioned and formatted drive. *) No other OS, just Win 7 freshly installed. *) System boots after installation, and you then install the loader *) After installation of loader, system won't boot (goes into a boot loop). *) The command "bootsect.exe /nt60 SYS /force" after booting the installation media will not fix the problem, you must reformat and reinstall the OS *) Selecting legacy mode and ignore existing slic options on loader advanced tab, before installing loader, makes no difference.
Thats it all summed up and written alot better than me! also before installing loader selected "debug boot" aswell. This hasn't helped, still returns to the loop. BIOS mod was suggested, same with previous user who had an error but no idea where to get that from. Original A00 or the updated A01 (This ones installed at the moment) Release Date: 3/26/2009 (Latest Version).
Off the wall suggestion: install loader with legacy mode + ignore existing slic + preserve current boot code. The last option is not usually selected unless another boot loader is present, but what the heck.
