that could work too dude. Good point. Personally I have never tested these upgrade disks because I got Enterprise before the lauch date and used a MAK key to activate it.
I was just reading that this is no longer the case, upgrade installs without need to prove previous ownership or so it is said. Just select custom install and insert key. This would be nice if true. I am going to check out winsupersite to see if he has bolgged about it yet.
Looks like there's no more need to "prove" existence of an old qualifying os to upgrade, according to this: So it works just like the win vista ways of old. Lol.
Since u spent the money, i'm guessing spending more money for the full version is not an option. You may want to download the ISO from the link provided in this forum and use loader (pick a loader).
When i receive my win7 home premium upgrade box, i presume it has with it the coa sticker. Since i already have my asus notebook bios-modded with asus 2.1 slic and activated with asus cert. and asus homepremium oem:slp key, what i intend to do is only slap the coa sticker at the underside of the notebook and let msft bring on the wat. Lol...
Hi your right the "upgrade route" is gone, so how do i do a slp in the vista list can you please further explain thanks
This ideal would not work because when i'm in the installation process it prompts me for the product key, so how would i beable to recover something i never installed?
You will have to make it upgrade itself, i.e. Install fresh 7, then upgrade over the fresh 7 install, so it counts as an upgrade license. XP is not eligible because it is too different I assume, to upgrade.
I understand what your saying but i am trying it as we speak and i put the disc in and it ask me do i want to "upggrade" or a "clean install" i click clean install then it does a few more things then it ask me for my "product key" thats where i am kinda at right now while talking to you.
Did you tried to install it over another OS like Vista or a minor 7 edition and choose the upgrade option? Those OS must be activated to work. Perhaps you can do this with the OS in trial mode (I don't know if it will work but give a try). Is it clear that you cannot do this procedure with XP?
