Windows Mail no longer ships with Windows 7, I know, but there is a winmail.exe running in my processes list and it's been this way with every build of Windows 7 I've installed. What's the purpose of this winmail.exe? When I open its file location, the file itself doesn't even exist, although it does open "C:\Program Files\Windows Mail".
Well, I'm perplexed. Does Windows Live Essentials install it then, or something (even though I didn't choose to install Mail)? Well, I hope it's safe to rename the folder to prevent it from running... because that's what I'm going to do >_>
I've had WinMail.exe running in the Beta (90% sure), RC, and RTM. Kind of odd if you ask me since there doesn't seem to be a Windows Mail client anymore.
yes, actually it's connected with Microsoft Outlook Web App, winmail.exe appears after the first login to Outlook Live service on microsoft.com... Cube
