Yesterday I installed Win 8.1 rtm in about 15 min and in the 16th minute installed CalssicStartMenu...all done..all sweet...
Basically, why would I need such a big button anyway? It does the exact same thing as Windows 8, but now it is just an button, most times I just throw my cursor in the downer left corner. And it makes more space to pin items on the taskbar if it is not there.
I hope that somebody like HB will code simple app, what will make W8-1 button dissapear like in W8-0 to save space and leave only active corner there for Start Screen... BTW: W8-1 Features (pros and cons): (+) Boot to desktop (+) Immersive Control Panel Tile (0) Power Shell v4 (0) IE 11 (-) Crippled ReFS support (no ReFS formating) (-) Big button to Start Screen (-) Special Down Arrow for All-Apps Screen (Shouldn't be only tiles and text there according the Metro specs?) I didn't noticed anything more... So... so far no reason to upgrade...
I suppose there are some core improvements as well? That is only what is visible, there should be a lot more...
(+) Support different DPI on secondary monitor (-) Not working "WIN + PgUp/PgDown" to switch Start screen between multiple monitors
multimonitor support was hell The second taskbar has VERY different window structure and messages queue.... takes whole evening from me. sucks
