Got this FX 580 Quadro with my 'new' Dell Precision T3500. I know it's not 'good' for gaming or other consumer uses but, Can it do any of that? I read somewhere that it is like a Geforce 9600 GT in comparison..

Only reason I ask is that when I end up selling my Optiplex 755, if the Quadro FX580 is better than the Geforce 8500 that's in it, I'll swap it out since I have it so someone else can have a decent experience.. I can't find any benchmarks comparing anything with gaming probably because of the costs of these cards when new.

Thanks. I'm not sure how I missed those but answers my question. It's only marginally better than the 8500 and nowhere near a 9600. Still, better than what I have in it now.

I stuck it in, loaded the drivers. Performance is what I expected. Little bit better but not a huge margin. Singularity would hold a playable 20 frames on good settings with the Geforce 8500 and would go over 30 on lower settings. With the Quadro it's running 40 frames on high and low settings it will hit 60 frames. It also brought a totally un playable GTA IV to 20-21 frame average, so almost playable.
