Pardon my ignorance as I am just beginning my search in to finding out if I can do what I am looking to do. Anyway, I am getting ready to install a SSD in my Samsung NC10 laptop and I would like to install it in AHCI mode (plus the drive I purchased is recommended to be updated in AHCI mode for any future firmware releases). Back a few BIOS versions ago, there was a hidden menu (called Intel, when enabled), that had an option to enable AHCI (still haven't confirmed if it actually worked though) but the current version does not have that hidden menu anymore and nowhere else for me to enable AHCI. Is there any modification that can be done to allow me to enable AHCI? I am pretty sure that my chipset supports AHCI so I don't think that is an issue. Any help would be GREAT!
