When you activate Windows 7/8.1 using Daz Loader and then upgrade to Windows 10 Pro will Microsoft still let you use it even though Windows 7/8.1 was not activated legitimately. How would this work?

The Upgrade process collects info about your harware and sends to MS Server, that's the reason why being online is mandatory here.

In that process it also checks the legitimacy of your License and if satisfied gives OK. DONE.

Seems the legitimacy isn't re-checked afterwards.

Not yet but I'm positive that MS might find a reason after the free year is over, just looking into the future

Still estonished they don't do already. Would be very easy to detect, since the Upgrade kiils the Loader and therefor the SLIC disappears.

I stated this behaviour some time ago that MS will shoot at pirates when the free time is over, my two cents;)

.... kind of Al Capone's style: We offer you something which you cannot deny... or you die:D

One way of MS to flag 'managed' (sounds better than pirated) Systems seems to be the Pro_VL MAK.

It's harder to do on 'dazed' Win 7.

If they wanted to dig into Daz's activation they already had done it but I believe the efford was too time consuming long time ago so they accepted this little percentage of faked W7 copies. Modded BIOSes cannot be detected and also was Peanuts for MS during W7 times.
Now we are approaching a new quality of piracy when many users especially load W7, activate by DAZ loader which might pump up rate beyond MS' tolerate rate and I'm sure they can trace back if they want to when this free year is over. I cross my fingers that they will not do it on behalf of the "free" users but we will see next year

But once you are upgraded what would they be checking? They would be checking against their own legally activated W10, wouldn't they?

Let's see how serious MS will be in this, at least giving the pirates a legit Windows would help to reach their aim of a Billion devices running their system.

Daz Loader emulates a SLIC in system RAM (using a little randomly named and encrypted grub-loader on boot partition).

The Upgrade modifies the boot partition and the grub-loader gets deleted ... so no emulated SLIC in Win 10.

Pray that the Upgrade won't start to check the latter :cool2:.

But you no longer need it then, right? Because now there is the universal W10 upgrade key instead. I think once you get past that original check to get upgraded and your hw info is on file with ms they won't care any more.

That still remains the million dollar question :D.

Remember Daz recommending to wait till 7/29 to be sure :cool2:.
