So, I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and the Hwinget file yesterday. My question is: will I be able to receive Windows 10 updates after the install? Also, is there anywhere I can see the procedures to install Windows 10 from the ISO and how to use the Hwinget program. I’m a newbie here... and very, very old!!!

    Thanks in advance,

Yes, you can install updates, even unactivated 10 gets updates.

You did not say which version of Win 10 you Downloaded ? 1903, 1809, 1803 ? The longest Microsoft is supporting a version of Win 10 is 30 Months. (Education, Enterprise ?) You need to keep updating Win 10 to keep it current. .

Install a new version of the operating system, you will not have to worry about this problem

If i read the OP correctly, he is concerned about being able to get windows updates because of the activation he suggests to use, in the (far) past, some activations needed WU to be disabled, because the WAT update (kb971033) undid the fake activation, but we aren't allowed to discuss HWID generation tools at MDL.

But when it's a properly working tool, updates will be offered.

you did not say what edition of Win10 v1903 you were using, CucoNegron. (is it Home, Professional, Education, Enterprise - which edition is it?)
run winver.exe from the Run dialog box from the Windows System section of the Start Menu to display the About Windows dialog box which will show the Win10 version AND edition.

Oh! Ok, I’m using Windows 10 Pro, version 1803 on my PC and I’m having problems updating it to version 1903. When I try to update it, I get an error OxC1900101 - 0x30018 “The installation failed in the first-boot phase with an error during Sysprep-Specialize operation” I have tried to update numerous times, 30+, anybody, please, have any idea of how to solve this problem. I was hoping that installing Windows 10 1903 and using an activator would help me, but as of today, I’m not too confident that it would help me too much. Maybe an exorsism is in order!!! I hope not... Any imput, idea, comment wiil be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

This doesn't happen on most clean installs from boot, only at upgrading this occured.

    - Disconnect all external drives or printers
    - Temp disable the AV

    and retry.

Enthousiast, I have tried the update without external drives, printers and usb ports to no avail, I’ trying your idea of disabling the AV.

    Thanks a lot,
