[Question:] How I can fully modify HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground registry key

    Hello,

    I need to change some subkeys and values in:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground

    but key it is protected by OS.

    What is the right thing to do? Change key owner from SYSTEM to my account?

    run regedit as trustedinstaller ?

    Yes, I would change ownership from SYSTEM to your account or Administrator, and change permissions.
